In case your about:blank homepage has been hijacked.

I guess this has been going around, where all of a sudden, you find your regular homepage, which has always been about:blank, is now some search website, along with a pop-up that says you have spyware.

Well, I had this problem (got it from a pr0n website I think), and I found a nice solution and am just passing it along.

It's called CWShredder. Gets rid of quite a few problems introduced by the Cool Web Search trojan(if it can be called that).

Here's the link to the homepage -
http://www.spywareinfo.com/~merijn/cwschronicles.html

And if you just wanna download it (link from downloads page on website) -
http://209.133.47.12/~merijn/files/CWShredder.exe

Click the "update" button within the program just to make sure you have the most up-to-date version of the program.

Hope this helps some people.

That was back when I used IE. I've been using Firefox now for a couple months at least, and I really like it a lot. Firefox has a built-in pop-up blocker, and is much more secure than IE.

Click that link, there's a download option there on the page. Try it out if you're not familiar, though it's already gotten a ton of buzz online and on TV, like CNN, etc.

I'm totally with you on that one... In the last 5 months of surfing the net with Firefox, I've only run across one site that didn't work with it...

Firefox is a very nice browser, and I heartily reccommend it.
